“Payatas” is a multimedia installation that consists of excavated dolls, bamboo rods, zinc shed, and wood chips. The gallery space is "planted" with a few thousand disembodied doll heads that have been put on long sticks to resemble macabre doll-flowers that line the path the visitors follow. There is a small, decaying hut that houses more dolls, many of which are disfigured. Some dolls still have faces, smiling, and with make-up on, however many are dirty and dismembered, distorting their image to the point where they are almost unrecognizable, depicting dolls excavated in a dumpsite.
